Eating Health
Healthy eating does not necessarily mean that you have to follow a very strict diet plan or deprive yourself of the food that you like. It means that you should eat in such a way that you have continued good health and the necessary energy to live the life in the style that pleases you. For this you need to keep in mind just some basics of nutrition and incorporate these in to your diet so that the beneficial effects are felt by your body.
Eat food that is healthy for the body and avoid those foods that can cause your blood pressure to go up, your sugar levels to go awry and also those foods that are likely to cause cancer. The varieties of foods that are available in today’s world are so many that it is quite easy to pick and choose so that your diet is the healthiest one around.
Eat enough calories that are necessary for your body. This is normally about 2000 calories, but can vary depending on your lifestyle, age, sex, height and weight. This could also vary depending on the amount of physical activity that you have normally in your life. A person who does go in for a regular game of tennis every day may require a few more calories.
Eat a variety of food that should have vegetables, fruits, whole grains and proteins if you must have them. Dairy products should be taken in moderation. Ensure your diet has enough of fiber as this will help the digestive system.
Eat portions of food that are moderate, especially if they are the high calorie type like meat. Start your food with a salad or soup so that you eat less.
During a day, see that you drink enough of water so that the toxins are more easily flushed out by the kidneys.
Cut out the sugar, salt and refined grain products, or at least limit them to low levels.
Eat your favorite desserts and fried foods whenever you feel the need, but see that this is always in moderation. It is better to indulge yourself once in a way then to burden yourself with completely shunning these foods.
Have a regular regime of exercise everyday. It could be just a walk or a jog around the park, but physical exercise is a must to complement the healthy eating that you are doing.
If you find that to get into this habit of healthy eating requires too drastic a change from your present habits, work up to the complete healthy eating one step at a time. Eliminate one poor food group with one good group one at a time. Never mind if it takes you a whole month to change over.
Change the way you eat. Eat each bite slowly and do not rush your meals. Stay away from the television or other distractions and eat at the dining table, with the family if you can.
Eat only when you are really hungry, if you lead a regular life you will find that this will always happen at regular intervals and you can make these your new meal times. Do not overeat.
Eat breakfast every day and do not skip meals. Refrain form snacking between meals and if you have to, eat salads or a fruit.
